Hey everyone! I know it has been a while since you seen some new post on Just Malanb. I have been busy with Heavy on Fashion, Milan Malan WOrd On The STreet, and all the other sites I freelance for. Don't worry I will be posting some great articles on Just Malanb every week!
Between my time writing for all these sites, I actually had some time to see something great at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem, NYC on on Feb 24th! I went to the AT&T 28 Days Speaker Series was hosted by Common! The guest speaker for the event was FUBU co-creator Daymond John. I have to say I learn tons at this event.
I can not remember the name of the comedian who warmed up the crowd but he was great.
Here is Common introducing the crowd to Daymond John. There was a video about Daymond John's accomplishment. I was surprise to see that Day mond had tons of other ventures beside Fubu. Also FUBU a.k.a FB legecy is still around and worn all over.
Daymond was a great speaker. He talked about how to be a smart entrepreneur. Researching is key in starting your own business. You do not necessary have to have a degree to be a great entrepreneur but reading about what you are going into is!
After Daymond's speech, there was a brief Q&A section after Mr. John's speech. I wish the Q&A section was longer. I wish that AT&T and other companies had more event like this not only during black history month but through out the year.
After the end of the AT&T event, my husband Ian of BodybyIan got a picture with Ralph McDaniels of the Famous Video Music Box! Where was I? I was trying to win a Blackberry Storm with no luck..Oh well.
All in all the event was a great success and I hope to use all the tips I learned from the Event.
