While everyone is buying gym memberships and weight loss book, I kinda started my resolution a while ago with this weight loss bet I have with my husband. If you follow me on Instagram @heavyonfashion you will see some of my healthy dinner choices and my cheat day indulgences ( i am keeping those delights to a limit!). While, here is a few money saving tips for all my weight loss divas and gurus out there than can help you stay on track and save a few $$ while on your old year resolution grind!
- Stack on weight loss equipment. During this month, all the exercise equipment, Tupperware, gym bags, scales, weights, weight loss cooking books, and at home exercising DVDs are being reduce everyday the closer to the end of January. (check out your local dollar stores too at the end of January/ beginning of February to stack up for the rest of the year)
- Do not get a gym membership in January. Many gyms hike up the price just for the New Years Resolution crowd. It is cheaper to wait til December. In other words, after shopping for Christmas gift, shop for a gym membership
- If you are gun ho on getting a gym membership today than check out your local gym. Some big business gym have tons of fees but many local gyms don't. Most local gyms have a upfront prices and more perks than other big business gyms like classes, personal training sessions, or gym gear. In other words, shop local to save some moolah!
- If you really eyeing those big business gyms than pay the membership fee up front. Have the cash in hand and pay that man (or woman!) This way if you are really committed to working out and becoming gym fit, than you will pull out those bills! The bonus is you won't have to worry about fees, or the gym taking out money from your bank account every month and wonder why your bank account look so sad. Also check online offers for big business gyms. Many big gyms have better deals online too.
- Tons of weight loss apps are on sale or free this month, so start downloading!
- Buy a workout DVD. DVDs are cheaper and portable. If you have to go on a business trip, bring your workout DVD. Going to visit family, bring your DVD! There hundreds of DVDs out there, research which trainer is right for you! (Side note: many workout DVDs are available at your local library, no cost just a library card!)
Until Next Time
