A Healthier Me & Book List!

The younger me would wonder how I got to so unhappy. I mean I am not sitting on the couch everyday eating bon bons and ice cream but I am not working out the way I should either.  After some soul searching and my shock when I step on the scale it was time to get it together. I am now back on the fitness track. I am tracking my food intake on my fitnesspal, working out every morning, and reading up on how I can be a healthier and happier me.

So I wanted to share my reading list that is helping me get my body back to where I want it to be and I hope these books can be of help to anyone who is looking to do the same. So far I am 30 pounds lighter. I have
  1. Women's Health Total Fitness Guide 2008 is a essential for learning how to eat right, tone up and losing those pounds. I have the 2008 ( yeah I know a bit old) version but any version will do. If you can only afford 1 book than get this on.

Reading Writing and Getting it together

So Life is never easy so why should I complain about it. So I decided to make some serious changes in my life. So this is my check list

    • Focus on my Writing- I have to write on all my blogs, magazines assignments, and freelance assignment everyday. This will mean that I have to get focus on my career ambitions and not others reactions to them. So I will go to the Library and work at least 5 days a week. A tip I got from Russell Simmons book. You should definitely read this for motivation and success!
    • Get fit - I finally am taking some action and walking. I don't know what was taking me so long but now I am finally on track. Hopefully the pound will melt along with my procrastination issues.

    • Money Issues and Getting an Education - Getting my finances in order is easier said than done but I have some big things in the works so hopefully the money will start flowing because my hustle is ready. I am finally going back to college but I still have to get my finances together before I step foot into higher education. I have to look into some scholarships too! Wish me luck!

    • Wedding Bells and Dress Hell- If one more person ask me about my wedding dress I am going to scream. Seriously, I want to focus on getting healthy and getting my money up before I see my cash leave my account. I just saying! I am getting the wedding favors and my bridal party together. Wish me luck!

Read a book = Growing Up!

Everyone complains about how their culture or community looks in the media. Many argue about racism, reverse racism and everything in between but I never see anyone talking about a solution. How about change how you and your family live, eat, and think!

In other words, do not follow what your favorite rapper/actor/singer's lifestyle because they may be making the wrong decision and carrying themselves in the wrong way. Follow the basic principles of being a man or woman- Take care of your responsibilities, think about what you are buying, be present in your families lives, take care of yourself, and finally educate yourself and learn about yourself and others. So when I remember about this song read a book, it about tell people what they should do and not what society wants you to do!

So Read A Book! Grow in Knowledge! Be An Adult!

The only good is knowledge and the only evil is ignorance.

Reading is more mental than fun!

When we want to know more about a subject, we get a book and read about it. If you want to lose weight, you buy some books & research about losing weight. Hopefully, you follow the tips, exercise, and eat right. So, when I wanted to be a writer, I read about it. Did I read every single book about writing, absolutely not but I read many that caught my interest. Books tell a lot about our self. They expressed our like and our dislikes. You can find what frightens you and enlighten us.

Reading made me more aware of my skills and my loves! I love fashion so I brought books about fashion. Am I a fashion dictionary, NO but I own one! The same goes for fine art, comics/anime, music, and poetry! So when I have to ask myself "Who am I"; I look at my bookshelf and find bits and pieces of myself in every book!

Stop playing! You know you remember this song! This was one of my favorite shows as a child. Who would have thought that a PBS show would have such an impact on my life! Reading is more mental than fun!
